2023 NAFUSA Annual Conference

HKA is a proud sponsor of the 2023 NAFUSA Annual Conference being held on March 29–31 in scenic Half Moon Bay, California. This year’s events kick off on Wednesday, March 29, with a welcome reception at 6:00 PM. CLE programs are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31, from 8:00 AM to approximately noon PDT. The class dinners are being held on Thursday evening, and the conference concludes with a dinner and keynote speaker on Friday evening. Partner Terry Orr is attending the conference on behalf of HKA and looks forward to seeing you there!

This year’s program features many interesting and timely presentations, including a panel of experts on the history of domestic terrorism, reports from the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) and Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys (AGAC) on current issues within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and a discussion of recent cases of note by Supreme Court expert Kannon Shanmugam. New York Times best-selling author and legal analyst Lis Wiehl will talk about her recent book with former NAFUSA president Paul Coggins. Other speakers include chief compliance officers and ethics officers from major corporations, as well as an attorney from the DOJ Fraud Section’s Corporate Enforcement, Compliance and Policy Unit, to discuss emerging trends in corporate compliance.
