Speakers

May Winfield, Global Director of Commercial,Legal and Digital Risks – Buro Happold

May is a senior construction and insurance lawyer with over 16 years’ experience. She has worked for various international organisations within the design and construction industry, as well as advising and representing insurers in this field. She is a leading legal expert in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and related technologies. May was one of the first UK lawyers to start investigating the legal and contractual implications of BIM, beginning her specialism in 2011.

Simon Lewis, Partner – Womble Bond Dickinson

Simon has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, specialising in dispute resolution in the infrastructure, energy, PFI/PPP and subsea/offshore sectors for a wide variety of public and private sector clients. He has extensive experience in all forms of dispute resolution, both domestic and international, including adjudication, litigation, arbitration, mediation and expert determination under a wide variety of contract forms, both standard and bespoke.

Sarah Keyte, Associate Technical Director – HKA

Sarah is a chartered construction manager with scheduling, delay, 4D planning and building information modelling (BIM) experience across the construction and engineering sectors in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Sarah has been appointed as an expert witness in disputes relating to BIM, and assisted expert witnesses with issues relating to BIM, 4D, and common data environments.

Chris Hughes, Associate Technical Director – HKA

Chris is an experienced architect with over 15 years’ architectural experience; specialising in large projects with recent project values ranging from £7 million to £1 billion, across Scotland. 

He was previously an associate within a commercial architectural practice with extensive experience as a project lead architect, responsible for the design and delivery of commissions throughout Scotland within a BIM level two certified environment. Chris is an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Architectural Design, and his experience covers all aspects of architectural BIM project delivery through a project lifecycle. From advising on EIRs, preparing BIM Execution plans, 2D and 3D production information, acting as a BIM manager, reviewing and coordinating within the native 3D environment and integrating subcontractor designs into a federated environment as part of a DFMA workflow.
