HKA & KRG are proud sponsors of the International Construction Projects Committee dinner on 25 September 2019 at the IBA Conference in Seoul, Korea.

The IBA’s Annual Conference takes place from the 22 to the 27 September 2019 and is the central event of the international legal community’s calendar as it presents an unequalled opportunity to exchange knowledge and participate in hundreds of informative sessions.

Anne Connolly, David McIntyre, Arnold An Ho Koh, Sue Kim and Hamish Egan from HKA along with Chris Beirise and Chris Tierney from The Kenrich Group (KRG), an HKA Company, are looking forward to attending the conference and participating in the sessions. Profiles of the team are outlined below.

PROFILES

ANNE CONNOLLY, PARTNER

Anne is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Anne’s academic and professional qualifications, coupled with her extensive and detailed experience of the construction process, has led her to be appointed as a quantum expert in independent advisory and client supporting roles for both client and contractor organisations. She has been actively involved in live construction projects throughout the course of her career as well as various formal dispute resolution forums. Anne is regularly appointed as an expert witness and she has given evidence in arbitration and litigation.

DAVID MCINTYRE, PARTNER

David is an experienced Chartered Engineer who has worked in the construction industry for 35 years. He is internationally recognised in the field of mechanical engineering, has acted as technical expert numerous times and given evidence on many occasions. David has given evidence in court, at arbitrations and adjudications in the UK and around the world. He has been appointed by the International Chamber of Commerce to provide technical assistance to arbitrators and he has assisted legal teams and clients during mediations and settlement negotiations.

CHRIS BEIRISE, PARTNER

Chris is a delay and damages, and quantum expert with over 31 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries. He has testified in courts, arbitrations and international arbitrations, delivered sworn depositions, and presented in mediations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Chris has been engaged as an expert on schedule and damages matters in excess of US$90 million. He has experience working on projects located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America.

CHRIS TIERNEY, PARTNER

Chris is a forensic accountant expert with over 32 years of experience in the field of business consulting. His work has focused on financial, accounting, economic, and damages matters in numerous and diverse areas, including the electric power industry, major infrastructure and construction projects, and military procurement involving aircraft, munitions, and other defense programs, financial services, and manufacturing. Chris has provided deposition and trial testimony and presented in mediation on damages as well as assisted counsel and clients in settlement negotiations.

ARNOLD AN HO KOH, DIRECTOR

Arnold is based in Seoul, Korea and is an Arbitrator of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) in accordance with Arbitration Act & Art. 5 of Domestic Arbitration Rules. He has over 25 years of experience in contract management, cost analysis, project scheduling and progress management, preparation of claims, arbitration and litigation. Arnold has held various construction and contract management positions with contractors in Korea, Pakistan, Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. He is a specialist in preparing contractual claims seeking entitlement for both time and cost.

SUE KIM, DIRECTOR

Sue has over 15 years of quantity surveying experience and is a practised quantum expert specialising in the preparation, negotiation and settlement of construction claims for disputed variations, prolongation and disruption. She has been appointed on quantum disputes in mediation, arbitration, adjudication and litigation, and has acted as a Single Joint Expert (SJE) for the High Court of Justice (EWHC). Sue has an accomplished track record across a wide range of industry sectors complemented with a strong international background having worked in the UK, Middle East, and Asia.

HAMISH EGAN, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Hamish has extensive experience in business valuations arising primarily from shareholder disputes, estimation of lost profits arising from alleged breaches of contractor agreements, and the analysis of complex accounting information. He has worked for the sovereign wealth fund of Singapore, where he was involved in developing valuation policy and reviewing the valuations of private equity investments.
