HKA is excited to be attending Western Justice Center’s Empower 2023 – an experiential evening and gala – on September 28 in Los Angeles. WJC is a nonprofit organization that empowers people to strengthen their communities by growing the conflict resolution skills and capacity of youth, educators, schools, and community partners. The support of WJC’s Empower 2023 sponsors will make it possible for the organization to reach more than 40 schools and affect learning environments for more than 25,000 youth this year.
As a Diamond Sponsor, HKA is proud of our long history of supporting WJC and its Empower gala. Many of our Los Angeles colleagues – including Mike Wallace, Ave Tucker, Whitney Alary, Alex Menenberg, Jordan Lam, Mya Fraley, Ramina Hedayati, and Susan Chen – are also long-time supporters of the organization and look forward to this extraordinary community event. The evening’s festivities begin with a reception at the Jonathan Club at 6:00 PM PT, followed by a dinner, live auction, and awards from 7:00 to 9:00 PM PT.
Empower 2023 honors students and educators who are using mediation and other restorative practices to build a culture of peace, justice, inclusion, and equity in their schools. WJC hopes those who attend the gala will be inspired to get more involved in supporting restorative justice and the organization’s work in the community.
